Although located in the middle of the intricate circuit of alleys in the village of Talasnal, the Ti Lena restaurant is easy to find thanks to the numerous signs indicating its location.

Typical, cozy and beautiful inside and out, it has 3 floors with as many rooms, obviously of reduced size, as would be expected in a house in the schist villages.

Talasnal restaurant Ti Lena

The Ti Lena restaurant, in low season, is only open on holidays and weekends, and at any time of the year, we advise you to book in advance, taking into account that Ti Lena is very popular throughout the year. It is a comfortable, welcoming but small space, typically symptomatic of the ambience of the schist villages.

One of the main advantages of Ti Lena is that, at the time of booking, it is possible to make the choice of meal immediately. The servings are generous and can be accompanied by the wines of Casa Ermelinda Freitas, usually recommended.

The starters are usually: rye bread, homemade dark bread, well-seasoned olives and cheese from the region. On the menu, you can choose between cod with bread and kid chanfana served on a clay platter with roasted potatoes, chestnuts, rice and savoy cabbage acidified with vinegar and minced with pepper.

As desserts, the rice pudding, the camel drool, the red fruit mousse with meringue, the blueberry ice cream with meringue and the lime ice cream are all excellent options.

It is possible to access Ti Lena by parking on the road that leads to the village of Talasnal or through the entrance to the village, whose accommodation you can book here.

Bar O Curral Talasnal

With a different interior decoration that gives it a unique atmosphere, the O Curral bar stands out for its magnificent view of the Serra da Lousã landscape, observable from the cozy and spacious terrace existing in this restaurant.

Excellent snacks, mainly the beef steak à corral, but also the green broth, the roasted chorizo accompanied by the house red wine are some of the specialties of the bar O Curral, as well as the chanfana.

The greatest of the specialties, sought after by the thousands of annual visitors to the village of Talasnal, whose accommodation you can book here, is chocolate cake with honey, which can be accompanied by a wide variety of liqueurs available at the O Curral bar, namely blackberry liqueurs and of acorn with and without alcohol.

A fantastic cheese and sausage board, the so-called Portuguese sushi, is another excellent option at the O Curral bar, where you can also buy delicious honey.

Talasnal Lousã Restaurant

Other recommended restaurant options near the schist village of Talasnal are Taberna Talasnal, O Burgo and Taberna Burguesa.

Each one with its specialties, Taberna Talasnal is best suited for couples and families looking for rustic surroundings. Located in the schist village of Talasnal, whose accommodation Casa do Talasnal can book here, this restaurant is beautiful, with two 2 floors of reduced space.

The construction is identical to the other houses in the village of Talasnal, with a short menu and typical and appetizing food. The traditional cheese and sausages board could not be missed, as well as roasted chorizo, regional bread and house wine. It is possible to opt for tapas or, as complete dishes: chanfana, cod and oven-roasted kid (upon order).

The price is inviting and they allow the entry of animals. Additionally, at Taberna Talasnal there are products from the region for sale: honey, jams, liqueurs, sweets, chestnut and honey queijadas, among others. Delicious!

O Burgo | The Burg

Located next to the river beach of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, close to the castle of Lousã, the restaurant o Burgo can be reached by car or through the various pedestrian paths in the Serra da Lousã.

The service concept is distinct, and couples and families can opt for Rhapsody and, thus, taste 6 different starters, 6 dishes of regional food and 6 desserts. The food is well served and of good quality, it is advisable to choose a table overlooking the river beach and the magnificent surrounding area.

The starters and regional meat specialties, such as wild boar with chestnuts, chanfana and stew made on a bed of special bread are dishes of excellence and refinement. For dessert, we recommend the Pajama, a sample of all the house sweets.

Taberna Burguesa | Bourgeois Tavern

One of the main differentiating features of the Taberna Burguesa lies in the fact that it is possible to choose a table inside or in the courtyard next to the church on the square, taking advantage of the generous light of this place.

The burgers are genuinely good, as are the homemade fries with aoli sauce. Although, in general, all the dishes are well prepared, such as, for example, the chanfana, the traditional snacks (alheira croquettes with mustard and honey, roasted alheira, mushrooms à tavern), the hamburgers and the craft beer are the ones that have more output.

Homemade ice cream is the best option for dessert.

Taberna Burguesa is easily accessible from the schist village of Talasnal, whose accommodation, Casa do Talasnal, can be booked here.
